A Brief Analysis and Suggestion Report Based on the Development of CCUS in EU
Abstract: As a carbon neutralization method with large-scale carbon dioxide emission reduction, CCUS technology has attracted close attention from the EU. The European Green Agreement sets the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 50-55 per cent below 1990 levels by 2030 and achieving climate neutrality by 2050. The EU now incorporates CCUS into the technology required for the transition to climate neutrality, and gradually takes a low-carbon development path in many fields such as energy, industry, construction, transportation, agriculture, ecology and environment. This paper investigates and sorts out the strategic planning of CCUS technology development in the EU, and puts forward suggestions on the priority of CCUS project infrastructure and the distribution of multi-industry clusters in combination with the development trend of related technologies in Europe.
Keywords: CCUS; carbon neutralization; suggestions on countermeasures.
